Opening act was Philadelphia singer-songwriter Sharon Little, backed by a three-piece band. Dressed in pink ballerina skirt, a black camisole and 1920s-style cap, Little led the band in a short, powerful set that featured her deep, rich vocals and songs from her new album, "Perfect Time for a Breakdown."
Hired to open for Plant and Krauss while still waiting tables in Philadelphia, Little is a remarkable talent. She returns to Seattle to perform Oct. 10 with Matt White at Chop Suey.

This is the way it oughta happen. Little is in a field of her own. A stunning first effort.”

Sharon Little, a young woman who was waiting tables in Philadelphia as recently as December, opened some eyes – ours included – with a seven-song set to start the night. She openly admitted to a case of the jitters, but still left an impression with her voice.

Mark my words: this tour will make her more than just a ‘rising star.’ That voice gonna get ya one way or another.

Sharon's voice doesn't need any help.

These live acoustic performances are a knockout.

Plant and Krauss also demonstrated good taste in their opening act -- unknown Sharon Little. Little demonstrated a strong, full-bodied voice and a half-hour set of songs that synthesized rock, folk and R&B, delivered with plenty of energy and little of the caution you might expect from such an outsized support gig. Little won some friends on Tuesday night, and they'll surely come out the next time she's in town.

The smoky-voiced, singer-songwriter caused a bit of a stir in her hometown when the bluesy CD A Perfect Time for a Breakdown was recently released. There’s even more now that Plant and Krauss chose her to open their gigs.

The opening set by singer Sharon Little was a pleasant surprise. She and her collaborator, guitarist-singer Scott Sax, sampled her debut album, 'Perfect Time For a Breakdown.' Standout songs included the funky "Ooh Wee", the emotional 'What Gets in the Way' and the rocking 'Try.' Little's career has taken off with a record deal and this tour just months after she was making ends meet by waiting tables in Philadelphia.
- The Arizona Republic
Little's voice is crisp, her band is solid and her songwriting is evocative. She cites influences as varied as Sly Stone, Billie Holiday, Etta James and Nina Simone. For her brief set, she pulled some tracks from her fine new album Perfect Time For A Breakdown. It is obvious what the headliners saw and heard in giving her the choice opening slot.
